The best way to overcome the challenge of interpreting spoken English is to practice and be fully immersed in an environment with English speakers as much as possible. While we have pointed out many of the challenges in learning the English languages, there are some aspects that make it easier. For example, nouns have no gender in the English language. There are only three basic tenses: the past, the present, and the future. That simplifies things a bit! While you may not learn to speak English fluently overnight, the important thing is that you don’t give up.

In the class we had to work alone or sometimes in pairs. The idea of the subject was to learn to write. We had to write about topics in English using a specific (most of the time given by the teacher) amount of words. The spelling of the words was also important as well as the word order and lexis. The point was to get to the exact number of words. I liked this subject because it was the moment when you could feel free to write about any topic that came to your mind. I understand that this subject is different
